Prevents shrimps or baby fishes from being drawn into filters
This guide is created by Green Chapter — Nature Workshop Studio, where we focus on creating living ecosystems through hands-on experience. We share practical insights across terrariums, aquascaping, plants, and natural systems to help you build and care for your own.

Filtration is an important element in keeping favourable water condition in any aquatic system, and it is especially paramount when you are keeping precious shrimps or fishes. All is good until the critters start rewarding you with their offspring and with their tiny size, you are going to start worrying them being sucked into the inlet of the filters!
There are many different ways to prevent this from happen, from using of filter guards to inlet pre-filters. Choose the one that fits the size of tank and strength of filters, you would want to use a filter guard with very tiny holes on a very strong filter with high suction power.
