ISOPOD LAB Fully Fermented Wood – Premium Isopod Wood Feed
A specially prepared fully fermented wood feed designed to provide a natural food source for isopod colonies and support their feeding behaviour as decomposers.
In nature, many isopods feed on decaying wood, fallen leaves and the microorganisms associated with decomposing organic matter. As wood breaks down, fungi and bacteria gradually alter its structure, making it softer and more accessible to wood-feeding isopods.
ISOPOD LAB Fully Fermented Wood undergoes a controlled decomposition process before packaging, providing pre-decomposed wood material that is ready for isopods to graze on.
Unlike fresh wood or ordinary wood chips, which can take a long time to decompose naturally, fermented wood has already undergone biological breakdown. This makes it a convenient supplementary food source, particularly for species that readily consume soft, decaying wood.
The small wood fragments can be placed around the habitat to encourage natural foraging, while also providing additional organic material for the enclosure's decomposer community.

Use
Place a small amount of fermented wood directly onto the substrate, preferably in the drier section of the enclosure.
Allow the isopods to discover and graze on the material naturally. Begin with a small portion and replenish according to the colony's consumption.
Avoid adding excessive quantities, particularly in very moist areas where the material may encourage unwanted mould growth or rapid microbial activity.
ISOPOD LAB Fully Fermented Wood can be offered alongside dried leaf litter, fermented leaves, calcium sources and other supplementary foods.
Note: Natural variations in colour, texture and wood fragment size are expected due to the fermentation process. Introduce gradually and monitor the colony's response. Fermented wood is a supplementary food source and should not replace regular leaf litter, appropriate decaying wood or proper habitat maintenance.
