ISOPOD LAB Leaf Candy – Fermented Mulberry Leaves & Wood

A specially prepared fermented mulberry leaf and wood treat designed to provide supplementary nutrition and encourage natural feeding behaviour in isopod colonies.

ISOPOD LAB Leaf Candy combines mulberry leaves and wood that have undergone fermentation using white rot fungi. This process helps break down tough plant fibres, making the organic material more accessible to decomposers such as isopods.

In nature, isopods feed on decaying leaves, decomposing wood and the microorganisms growing on these materials. Leaf Candy brings these familiar food sources together in a convenient, ready-to-feed form.

Each treat is shaped like a small lollipop, allowing it to be placed directly into the substrate for isopods to gather around and graze. The exposed food surface also makes it easier to observe the colony's feeding activity.

Use

Insert the stick gently into the substrate, keeping the Leaf Candy portion accessible above the surface.

Allow the isopods to gather and graze naturally. For smaller colonies, offer a limited portion to avoid excessive uneaten food.

Remove any uneaten material if it begins to spoil or develops excessive unwanted mould growth.

Leaf Candy is intended as a supplementary food source, alongside a varied diet that includes leaf litter, decaying wood and other appropriate isopod foods.

Note: Natural variations in colour, texture and surface appearance may occur due to the fermented plant materials. The product should not replace the colony's regular food sources or essential habitat requirements.
