100% Natural Japanese Ancient Deep-Sea Mineral Block
Introduce a piece of ancient Japanese natural history directly into your aquarium, paludarium, or shrimp tank. Sourced exclusively from a rare deep-sea mud deposit in Japan, Benibachi Mironekuton Rocks are 100% natural, unprocessed mineral blocks.
Unlike fast-dissolving powders or chemical additives, Mironekuton Rocks function as a permanent, slow-release environmental shield. Sitting quietly in your tank, these mineral blocks gradually leach over 50 essential trace elements into the water column for months on end, providing a stable safety net against parameter crashe

Targeted Benefits by Species

  • Caridina & Neocaridina Shrimp:
    • The Ultimate Grazing Surface: Shrimp love to gather directly on the rock's porous surface to graze on the highly nutritious biofilm and microflora that naturally grow on it.
    • Long-Term Molting Protection: Steadily releases vital calcium and magnesium, ensuring shrimp always have access to the building blocks required for flawless molting cycles.
  • Vampire Crabs (Geosesarma) & Borneo Crabs (Lepidothelphusa):
    • Hardscape Enhancement: These rocks double as beautiful, texturized land-water transitions or submerged cave elements that crabs can scale safely.
    • Continuous Water Polishing: The natural sea mud block functions as a heavy-duty toxin magnet, slowly absorbing harmful phenols, heavy metals, and odors from small paludarium pools.
    • Emergency Buffer: Keeps your low-volume aquatic pools safely buffered at a natural pH of ~7.4, neutralizing acidic organic waste buildup.
  • Isopods & Springtails (Terrestrial Clean-up Crews):
    • Mineral Cave: Placed in the humid land section of a bioactive terrarium, these porous rocks absorb environmental moisture and act as a damp, mineral-rich hiding cave where isopods can crawl to safely ingest pure calcium.

Care, Usage & Application Guide

1. Preparing the Rock
  • Simple Rinse: Briefly rinse the rock in a cup of aquarium or dechlorinated water before placing it into the tank to remove any loose outer dust. Do not scrub it.
  • What to expect: When first submerged, the rock may softly fizz or slough off a small layer of fine clay dust. This is completely normal and safe; the dust will settle and polish your water crystal-clear within hours.
2. Physical Placement
  • In-Tank Hardscape: Place the rock directly onto the substrate or nestle it within your existing wood and stone hardscape where shrimp and crabs can easily access it.
  • In-Filter Placement: For a hidden aesthetic, you can break the rock into smaller pieces and place them inside your external canister filter or filter chambers.
3. Recommended Mass / Dosage
  • Because minerals release incredibly slowly from solid stone form, you need a larger physical mass compared to the powder.
  • Standard Rule: Use approximately 100g to 150g of Mironekuton Rock per 10–20 litres of water. You cannot overdose this product—crustaceans will simply use what they need.
